Job Description:
Harris is searching for talented Manufacturing Engineers to support the development of high speed avionics hardware and manufacturing processes. This position will focus on the development and manufacturing of high performance avionics hardware including Circuit Card Assemblies (CCA), Sub-Assemblies and Chassis assemblies. In depth familiarity with all aspects of printed circuit board design and fabrication will be highly beneficial in this position.
Responsibilities include:
Subject matter expertise with comprehensive knowledge of PWB/CCA fabrication and design and in-depth knowledge of project management.
Ability to manage large, complex project initiatives of substantial importance to the organization with minimal oversight or direction.
Frequently provide guidance, coaching and training to other employees across the company within PWB/CCA fabrication and design.
Communicate effectively with internal and external organizations which may include customers or vendors regarding complex and future CCA designs
Implement strategic goals established by leadership.
Provide input into new products (DFM/DFT), processes, standards and/or operational plans that will have measurable impact on the achievement of overall function of business results.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, chemical, aerospace, industrial engineering or equivalent with a minimum of 6+ years industry experience OR Masters Degree and 4+ years of experience.
Hands on experience with Printed Circuit Board fabrication and/or assembly and chassis assembly.
Preferred Additional Skills:
Working knowledge and general understanding of IPC -6012, IPC-6013, IPC-A-600 and IPC 6018.
Background in manufacturing of electronics for Military and Government Systems.
Background in MIL-P-55110, MIL-PRF-31032.
Experience deploying DFM & DFT strategies on high complexity products and programs
Demonstrated track record working in cross-functional teams and influencing organizational change
Experience in CCA manufacturing, mechanical assembly, machine shop, finishing, electrical assembly, composites, and testing operations
Working familiarity with CAD and other software-based tools to improve manufacturability (Valor)
Ability to develop and manage organizational budgets
Demonstrated experience in Lean principles; mistake proofing, 3P, 5S+1, Value Stream Mapping (VSM), Root Cause Analysis, Gemba, Pull-Flow, etc.
Black Belt or Green Belt certification
Knowledge in Lean Manufacturing, AutoCAD and/or Pro-E, Six Sigma, technical writing, MS Project and/or MS SharePoint
Strong analytical and problems solving skills.
